try floating down a river

Find a river that's not too dangerous – without big cascades and waterfalls – one that flows rather gently, that you can trust, that you can relax into. And go with no unnecessary possessions about your body. Swim out into the river. Turn onto your back. And float. Flow with the river. Allow it to carry you. Don't resist. Don't swim hurriedly onwards. Just flow at the pace of the river. And allow it to take you where it will.


This is the way to live, my friends: allowing the current of life to carry us at its own pace, here and there. Why be in a rush to get somewhere? Why resist the flow of life? Why want to go in a different direction? Just allow yourself to be carried, to be carried through life, as the river carries you when you float with it, flow with it. Ahh. Namaste.
